Itinerary #4: Sri Lanka and the Maldives
This 2-week adventure combining the best of Sri Lanka and Maldives will start with arrival in Colombo and transfer to Dambulla. The first day will end with a rest at your hotel.
On the second day, you will travel to the majestic Sigiriya where a challenging climb and panoramic views, royal history, and ancient frescoes await you.
On the third day, head to Polonnaruwa, the ancient capital showcasing Sri Lanka's Golden Age. Nearby you can observe wildlife in Minneriya National Park.
Day four is dedicated to the spiritual cave temples of Dambulla. Continue to Gampola with a stop at Matale Spice Gardens, where you'll learn about Eastern homeopathy before relaxing in your bungalow.
On the fifth day, you will travel to Kandy, home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Enjoy the lush flora of the Royal Botanical Gardens and then explore the lake, market, and the significant temple of Kandy.
On the sixth day, transfer from Kandy to Galle to view the well-preserved European fortifications and enjoy the evening at your leisure. Day seven is a full day at leisure with optional activities.
On the eighth day, embark on an afternoon walking tour of Galle Fort. The next day, you'll move from Sri Lanka's historic tapestry to the tropical paradise of the Maldives.
Spend days ten through thirteen relaxing at the resort, where you can relax on the beach, enjoy water sports, or explore the island's natural beauty.
