In northern Italy, including cities like Milan and Venice, June temperatures typically range from warm to hot. Average highs can vary between 86°F to 75°F (24°C to 30°C), while average lows range from 59°F to 66°F (15°C to 19°C).

In central Italy, which includes cities like Rome and Florence, June is typically warmer compared to the north. Average highs range from 79°F to 88°F (26°C to 31°C), while average lows range from 61°F to 66°F (16°C to 19°C). It can feel hot during the daytime, especially in inland areas.

Southern Italy, including destinations like Naples and Sicily, experiences even warmer temperatures in June. Average highs range from 82°F to 91°F (28°C to 33°C), with average lows between 66°F to 72°F (19°C and 22°C). It can get quite hot in southern coastal areas and islands.

Italy generally experiences lower rainfall in June compared to the spring months.

For Milan and Venice, June tends to be relatively dry. The average rainfall in Milan is around 2.8 inches (71 mm), while Venice receives an average of 2.3 inches (58 mm) of rainfall.

In central Italy, Rome and Florence are typically dry compared to the preceding months too. The capital sees an average rainfall of about 1 inch (25 mm), while Florence receives around 1.5 inches (38 mm) of rainfall.

Southern Italy has lower rainfall levels. Naples receives an average rainfall of approximately 0.9 inches (24 mm), while Sicily sees around 0.3 inches (8 mm) of rainfall.

• Amalfi Coast opera and chamber music festival; Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa, Venice Regatta of the Maritime Republics (first Sat & Sun in June). Costumed procession and a race in replica Renaissance boats. The venue alternates yearly; 2016 is Amalfi’s turn.
• Pisa Game of the Bridge (last Sat). A costumed parade and mock battle between rival teams on the town’s main bridge.
