Two weeks is definitely enough time to get a solid introduction to Indonesia. You'll be able to explore a few diverse islands and experience some great highlights, without feeling particularly rushed. Though if you have the opportunity, adding more time does allow you to see more.

Itinerary #1: A family trip to Indonesia

On this two week family itinerary, you’ll arrive in Jakarta on the first day, and check into your hotel. Day two begins with a visit to the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah to see miniature replicas of traditional houses. Spend the rest of the day by attending a puppet show followed by a cable car ride.

Itinerary #2: Adventure trip in Indonesia

This fourteen day itinerary is perfect for those who want to spend their two weeks exploring outside.

On the first day, you'll arrive in Sumatra and head to Bukit Lawang, where your jungle trekking adventure in Gunung Leuser National Park begins. You'll visit the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and spend the night in the jungle. On the second day, you'll trek deeper into the park and camp in the rainforest again.

The ninth day features an early sunrise over Mount Bromo, a jeep tour of the Tengger Caldera, and a trek to Mount Bromo’s crater, with visits to Candi Jawi and Candi Kidal temples.

On the tenth day, you'll trek Mount Semeru, the highest volcano in Java, and return to basecamp to rest. The eleventh day is for exploring the park at your own pace.

Itinerary #6: Indonesia’s nature

This two week itinerary will take you to the best of Indoniesia’s nature, starting in Borneo on the first two days. You'll arrive in Pangkalan Bun and head into Tanjung Puting National Park via riverboat, visiting orangutan rehabilitation centers and trekking through the rainforest. You'll spend your nights in a riverside lodge. 

On day three, you’ll visit more feeding stations, wildlife observation points, and enjoy a guided trek and a nighttime river cruise.

On day four, depart Borneo and fly to North Sulawesi. Spend days five through seven in Manado and Bunaken National Marine Park, exploring Manado's markets and waterfront. Dive or snorkel among coral gardens in Bunaken, enjoy beachside picnics, and explore dive sites.

From days eight through eleven, you’ll head to Central Java to explore Mount Dieng. Trek to the summit of Mount Dieng for a sunrise view, visit volcanic wonders like Sikidang Crater and Colorful Lake, and explore temples and tea plantations.

Conclude your journey in Ubud on days twelve through fourteen. Explore landscapes like the Campuhan Ridge Walk and Tegallalang Rice Terraces. Indulge in spa treatments, attend a Balinese dance, and take in the local culture.

Day 1

  • Arrive in Borneo and transfer to Pangkalan Bun, the gateway to Tanjung Puting National Park.
  • Check into your hotel and rest.

Day 2

  • Riverboat journey through Tanjung Puting National Park.
  • Visit the orangutan rehabilitation centers at Camp Leakey, Pondok Tanggui, and Tanjung Harapan.
  • Trek through the rainforest.

Day 3

  • Spend your last morning in Borneo exploring the jungle surroundings or visiting local villages.
  • Transfer to the airport for your flight to North Sulawesi.

Day 5

  • Arrive in North Sulawesi and transfer to Manado, the capital city.
  • Check into your accommodation and relax after your journey.
  • Spend the afternoon exploring Manado's markets and waterfront promenade.

Day 6

  • Take a boat trip to Bunaken National Marine Park.
  • Dive or snorkel among colorful coral gardens, encountering reef fish, sea turtles, and other marine creatures.
  • Enjoy a beachside picnic lunch on one of Bunaken's beaches.

Day 7

  • Explore more of Bunaken's dive sites, including Lekuan Wall, Sachiko's Point, and Pangalisang.
  • Dive deep underwater to explore drop-offs and walls teeming with marine life, including reef sharks, eagle rays, and giant trevallies.

Day 8

  • Visit traditional villages like Woloan or Tomohon, known for their unique architecture and cultural practices.
  • Explore local markets and sample traditional Minahasan cuisine.

Day 9

  • Fly or drive to Central Java and transfer to Wonosobo, the base for exploring Mount Dieng.
  • Check into your accommodation and rest up for your mountain adventure.

Day 10

  • Embark on a sunrise hike to the summit of Mount Dieng
  • See the sulfur vents and steaming fumaroles.
  • Visit the Sikidang Crater and Telaga Warna (Colorful Lake), natural wonders formed by volcanic activity.
  • Spend the night camping on the slopes of Mount Dieng, under a blanket of stars.

Day 11

  • Visit Candi Arjuna and Candi Gatotkaca.
  • Enjoy a traditional Javanese lunch at a local warung.
  • Visit local tea plantations and learn about the tea-making process, from cultivation to production.

Day 12

  • Arrive in Ubud, check into your hotel
  • Explore Campuhan Ridge Walk, a scenic trail that meanders through Ubud's picturesque countryside, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.

Day 13

  • Visit Tegallalang Rice Terraces, iconic landscapes of cascading rice fields framed by coconut palms and tropical foliage.
  • Enjoy a traditional Balinese massage or spa treatment to soothe tired muscles after your trek.
  • Attend a Balinese dance

Day 14

  • Transfer to the airport for your departure flight, bidding farewell to the natural wonders and cultural treasures of Indonesia.
