What to wear in India in September?
While choosing clothes for traveling to India in September, you should consider the different weather conditions in the country during this transitional month.
In most parts of India, the climate in September remains warm and humid. Hence, it is advisable to opt for lightweight and breathable fabrics like cotton and linen that make you feel comfortable in these conditions.
Even though the monsoon season is winding down, it is still advisable to bring a mackintosh and umbrella.
If you plan to visit religious places, don't forget to take appropriate clothing. For women, this means clothing that covers shoulders, necklines and knees, while men can wear long shorts or pants.
In addition, comfortable footwear such as sandals or breathable sneakers are required for walking and sightseeing. Layered clothing, including a light jumper or long-sleeved shirt, can come in handy as temperatures can vary depending on the time of day.
Also don't forget sun protection: sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat and sunscreen, as well as insect repellent, especially in areas with a constant mosquito population.
