Technically, the fastest way to get from Bangalore to Hampi would be to fly by air, which would only take about an hour, excluding aeroplane checks. Also, note that Hampi does not have its own airport, so you must take care of transfers upon arrival.
The most common option is to get from Bangalore to Hampi by bus or car. Both options will take 6 to 8 hours.

To travel from Bangalore to Hampi by air, you need to take a two-step journey. Start by booking a flight ticket from Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) in Bangalore to Jindal Vijaynagar Airport (VYD) in Thoranagalla, the nearest airport to Hampi.
After landing at Thoranagallu, which usually takes about an hour, you need to arrange ground transportation to reach Hampi. The journey usually takes 1 hour and is about 35 kilometres (22 miles).
You can use cabs, rented cars, or even local buses to travel to Hampi. This method allows you to cover a long distance relatively quickly, and upon arrival, enjoy the historical and architectural wonders of Hampi.

There is no direct train between Bangalore and Hampi, so first you need to choose a suitable train that connects Bangalore to Hospet, the nearest major city to Hampi. Some of the most popular options include the Hampi Express and the Haripriya Express.
The train journey usually takes around 8-12 hours, and during this time you can fully enjoy the changing scenery as you pass through the towns and villages of Karnataka.
On arrival at Hospet, which is the gateway to Hampi, you can easily take local transportation such as buses or cabs to make the short trip to Hampi, which is about 12-13 km away. Once in Hampi, you can explore its rich historical and architectural treasures including stunning temples, ancient ruins, and the majestic Virupaksha temple.

Travelling from Bangalore to Hampi by bus is an adventurous choice. To start your journey, you can book your bus ticket with one of the many bus operators.
Most services offer trips from Bangalore to Hospet, the nearest major city to Hampi, but there are also direct connections that will nevertheless take longer. You will have a choice of different classes of buses to choose from, including sleeper and semi-sleeper seats, allowing you to choose the level of comfort that suits you.
The duration of a bus ride is usually 6-8 hours and although it is a longer journey compared to other modes of transportation, it offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the spectacular scenery along the way.
If you opt for a bus service to Hospet, on arrival you will find local modes of transportation such as cabs and buses to reach Hampi, which is about 12-13 km away.
