Is June a good time to visit Costa Rica?
Since June falls during the rainy season in Costa Rica, there tend to be fewer tourists visiting the country. This can mean lower prices, more availability of accommodations and activities, and a more peaceful atmosphere.
The rain in June helps to keep the landscapes of Costa Rica green and vibrant. If you enjoy hiking, nature walks, or just soaking up the beautiful scenery, June can be a great time to visit. Many animals in Costa Rica are more active during the rainy season, which can increase your chances of spotting wildlife in their natural habitats.
Consider visiting the northwest in June. The cattle-ranching province of Guanacaste is drier than most other areas at this time of year and the hot, baked landscape that surrounds the attractive regional capital of Liberia shows visitors a different side of the country.
June is a great time to go whitewater rafting too. The rain makes it one of Costa Rica’s most exciting outdoor activities, whether you’re floating down the Peñas Blancas or riding Class-V rapids on the Pacuare.
