In this episode of the podcast (iTunes; Soundcloud) we speak to Alastair Humphreys, a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. Alastair has cycled around the planet, raced a yacht across the Atlantic Ocean and crossed countries on foot. But when we met him, we wanted to hear about his latest project: microadventures.

Alastair tells us how he came up with the idea of microadventures, and explains that anybody can find adventure between 5pm and 9am, once the working day is done.

That was a challenge that host Greg Dickinson decided to take on. Greg left work at 5pm and hopped on a train to the North Downs, about 20 miles south of London, where he camped in the woods before commuting back to Rough Guides HQ at the crack of dawn the following day.
