Known as the “City of Eternal Spring", the Colombian city of Medellín doesn’t experience extreme seasonal changes. That said, if you’re thinking of visiting in low-season November, bear in mind this is one of the region’s rainier months. At the same time, daytime temperatures are warm, and landscapes remain lush as the city begins to transition to a drier season as the month moves on. For more details, read on to find out everything you need to know about the weather in Medellín in November, along with inspirational itinerary suggestions.

Is November a good time to visit Medellín?

Depending on your personal preferences, November can be an excellent time to visit Medellín for a host of reasons.

First up, while this month is still part of the rainy season, the weather in Medellín in November starts to clear up as the month wears on. On average, November sees around 180mm of rainfall, compared with 200mm in October.

For more context, July and August see an average of around of 100mm, May sees 150mm, while dry January usually experiences around 40mm.

As a result of its rain, November draws fewer tourists than many other months of the year. For reference, the busiest months of the year are December to January, and June to August, especially during August’s Feria de las Flores (Flower Festival).

So, if you’re looking for a more relaxed, authentic visit, November will see you visiting attractions in less crowded conditions and could have you enjoying lower accommodation prices.

In addition, Medellín continues to experience its “eternal spring” climate in November, with pleasant temperatures lending themselves to enjoying the city's cafés and street art, and exploring the surrounding countryside when it’s gloriously green.

Visit a local plantation to discover how coffee is made, and taste plenty of the good stuff — there’s a reason Colombian coffee is regarded as some of the world’s best.

We suggest touring D'arrieros Coffee Farm for intimate insights into coffee production from bean to cup. Just 45 minutes from Medellín, the landscapes will be gloriously green in November.
